The lamb who licked the hand of the man.
I heard a story of a man working in the slaughter house who quit his work after an incident took place. While he was killing the lambs when they came thru, there was one precious lamb when after he slit the neck, did nothing but started licking the hand of the man. The man said that affected him so much that he could not perform in that line of work again. Isaiah 53:7 says "He was oppressed and afflicted, He was submissive and opened not His mouth; like a lamb that is led to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so He opened not His mouth." Jesus is our sacrificial lamb. While He hung upon the cross and bore the sins of the world He was praying "Father forgive them." He was blessing the ones who were crucifying Him. What love! In this Passion season , think about what Jesus did for you and thank Him and be willing to, in the same way, lay down your life for Him and for others (yes, even your enemies).
"The Lord showed him a tree"
"And he (Moses) cried unto the Lord; and the Lord showed him a tree, which when he had cast into the waters, the waters were made sweet: there He made for them a statute and an ordinance, and there He proved them" Exodus 15:25
After crossing the Red Sea, the Israelites journeyed through the wilderness and came to Marah which means bitterness. They had traveled for three days and could not find water and then they happened to come upon a place of water and it was too bitter to drink. But God showed Moses a tree to cast into the waters. When he did, the waters became sweet. Notice the last part of the verse, "there He made for them a statute and an ordinance." Wow! The tree cast into the bitter waters is our statute and ordinance of the cross (The Tree.) When the bitter waters of sufferings, disappointments, heartaches and losses are hard to swallow, remember that faith in the complete attonement of the cross of Jesus makes all bitter waters sweet.

From Phil Felten
As January comes to a close for the Envoys, I reflect on our some of the people we shared ministry with in the month - and the word Faithful comes to mind. Oakdale Baptist in Rock Hill, SC where our Faithful friend and former Envoy, Jerry Gilmore, is music minister and serving the Lord with gladness Faithfully.
Then last weekend we first sang at the Light and Life Camp in Lakeland, Florida where our fellow minister John Hendricks is serving the camp Faithfully these many years after many years of Faithful service as Pastor of Spring Arbor Free Methodist Church. Then on to Rockledge Nazarene in Rockledge, Florida where the Pastors have served the church Faithfully for many, many years. Our Faithful friend, Mark Seitter, has been the music minister for the last 25 years and our other Faithful friend, Don Smith has been the senior Pastor for the last 21 years. Faithful and loyal men!!
I am blessed in the Envoys with Faithful men. Ray who in a short period of time has proven himself Faithful to the Envoys and Faithful to the Lord. Mark who has served in the Envoys Faithfully for the last 5 years with joy and enthusiasm. And then my dear friend and ministry partner Val who has stood alongside me Faithfully for 41 years since our freshmen year in college. Val has proven himself loyal and dependable to his Lord and to me! All these men are Faithful to their calling!
My dear wife Marilyn has been Faithful to our marriage and friendship for 38 years and more importantly Faithful to her Lord! A true Proverbs 31 woman who embodies the fruits of the Spirit Faithfully!
And finally but most importantly my supreme example of Faithfulness in perfection without flaw or exception - that of my Lord God and Savior. He is the Love of my Life and my Rock! Psalms 33:4 says the Lord is "Faithful in ALL He does." Oh that my life can be Faithful to Him first and also to those who share the Kingdom walk with me!
Thank you God for my Faithful friends, family and Lord!"
